In honor of #ThrowBackThursday, I wanted to share with you all my very first photoshoot with the photographer Alexander Ustin and designer Nelli Rosh. Let me start by saying this, Wow! It's incredible to look back at your work and to see how fast time flies.
I remember this day like it was yesterday; I was a junior in high school and 16 years old. I remember I got the call that I was casted for this photoshoot to work with Alexander Ustin and I was SO excited. I told my art teacher I had to use the restroom (sorry Mrs. Stiles!!!) and I obviously didn't but instead I called my mother. I said, "Mom, I have to go to this photoshoot! Please get me out of class early and pack my bag with my proper undergarments!" Of course, my mom got me out of class and she drove me to this photoshoot. I was the youngest model there but I took it very seriously. I was literally a half an hour early. Once everyone got to the location and we walked in, it was the most beautiful venue I had ever been to. I didn't expect it to be that beautiful inside based on the location of it. My mom and brother(who was 11 at the time), stayed with me through hair and makeup and as the photoshoot began I remember my little brother was making fun of me the whole time until he realized, "oh sh*t! my sister is really serious about this"! Let me remind you this was my very first professional photoshoot so I honestly had no idea what I was doing but I had watched enough #ProjectRunway, read enough magazines and practiced posing in my room since as long as I could remember waiting for this day to come. hahaha! I remember Alexander telling me what a great job I was doing and that was the best feeling in the world.
With that being said, till this day these are still two of my favorite photos of myself. Especially the one on the left. It was a day I will never forget and I will always be thankful for having the ability to share it with my biggest supporters, my mom and brother.
Although I'm no where near where I want to be I want you all to know to follow your dreams, big or small make them your reality!!
Xoxo,
