Full tutorial on this "Soft & Luminous Glow" look we did for a photoshoot collaboration with Photographer Alec Channing.
Gabrielle has the most stunning beauty, we always keep her look very subtle, soft, and natural. I mainly just enhance her features, here is how we achieved this look…
Face - I started off by moisturizing her face with Benefit Cosmetic’s Triple Performing Facial Emulsion Moisturizer, then I applied Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation in shade 210 Sunny Beige with a damp beauty blender and pressed into her skin to give a luminous coverage.
Concealer - I began with NYX Above & Beyond full coverage concealer in “orange” to hide any dark under eye circles. To brighten, on top of that we used BareMinerals bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in the shade “light” in a triangle/v shape under her eyes. I also did a few strokes of the concealer on her forehead, down the bridge of her nose, chin, and corner of the mouth to give the perfect highlight and glow. To prevent creasing, I used banana shade powder to set the concealer under her eyes. I did not set the rest of her face because we wanted to leave a dewy finish. Then we moved onto contouring her entire face with Benefit Cosmetic’s Hoola Bronzer. We used this bronzer because we love the neutral tone it has, applying that in the hallows of her cheeks, slightly around her hairline, across her jawline, and whatever was remaining on the brush I lightly dusted the sides of her nose.
Eyebrows: I am obsessed with Gabrielle’s eyebrow shape, they’re naturally perfect. So, all I wanted to do was define and lift them a little more. I used Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow in “medium brown” from the center of her brow to end. For the front of her brow and to set the rest, I used Benefit Cosmetic’s Gimme Brow in “Medium Deep” for a more soft to bold brow. To clean up her brow and any stray hairs, I used concealer right underneath her arch and finished it off with the Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter we used on her face.
Brow Tip: REMEMBER you never want to go too dark in the beginning of your brow, this causes them to look too drawn on and it also makes your eyebrows appear closer together. It's all about the blending and keeping them soft, subtle and groomed properly.
Cheeks - Using Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer I added a little more bronzer to the hallows of her cheeks to give her face more depth. Next, I applied Ulta Beauty’s Baked Bronzer in “Radiance” to add more of a glow to her cheeks. To highlight, with a fluffy fan brush I used Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Illuminator in “So Hollywood” on her cheek bones, above and below her eyebrow arch, center of the bridge and tip of her nose, cupid bow on her lip, a little on her chin, and with a smile on her face, dusted on the apples of her cheeks.
Eyes- To keep a more natural eye look, we went with the MAC 217 brush and again used the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, mainly on her lid and blended it upwards into the crease to make her brown eyes stand out.
Quick Tip: Orange tones really bring out any color! To brighten her eyes, I went back in with the Anastasia Bevelry Hills highlighter and applied it in the inner corner of her eyes.
I added a more flesh tone eyeliner on her water line, and finished off with Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara in black.
Lips: For her lips we wanted to stay on the neutral side but still have that pop of color. So, we started off with her all time favorite lip liner, Lancome Le Lipstique in “charme”, filling her lips in completely with this color we topped it off with YSL Rouge Pur Couture in "Rose Stiletto" on center of her top and bottom lip.
Finishing off this look I spritzed her face with Glossier's Soothing Face Mist to hydrate, soothe and give her skin the perfect luminous glow! Off to shooting we went!
