Breaking Beauty Rules by MUA Diana Gonzalez

Breaking rules buy creating a Sultry Eye and Bold Lip by MUA Diana Gonzalez & Model Judy Renee

Who makes up all the beauty rules?? I have always been a rulebreaker and that doesnt stop with makeup. If you can werk it with confidence do it. My model Judy can do just that so I wanted to give her a sexy eye with a bold lip all in one look.

For her skin I used the Embroyolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè which I used as a primer for her combination oily skin. I buffed the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation all over the face and the Mac select cover up Concealer in shade Nw25 in a v shape to brighten up under her eyes then using a damp beauty blender all over to absorb it into her skin. We then set everything with the Ben Nye Neutral setting powder.

I wanted to add a little warmth in the temples and the hollow of her cheeks, so I lightly brushed on Laura Mercier Matte Radiance baked powder bronze number 2 following that I used Nars orgasm on the apples of her cheeks and pairing that with Laura Mercier's Mineral illuminating powder starlight to highlight down the nose and a bit underneath the eyes.

For her eyes we started off by applying a drop of Urban Decay shadow primer on each eye which helps the shadow adhere and last all night. Tarte light of the party Palette was used just for her eyes with the browbone in color Eggnog, the crease Rum Pum Plum, and Fireside Chat pressed all over the lid and a tiny bit of eggnog in the tear duct. We finished the eyes off with coating her lashes top and bottom with Stila waterproof volumizing mascara.

Judy was blessed with amazing brows so I lightly filled them in with the Laura Mercier brow pencil in blonde to give her brows definition without making them too harsh and bold.

Last but not least, we brushed on a tiny amount of the same highlight by Laura Mercier on her cupid's bow to give the illusion of fuller lips. After highlighting her cupid's bow I lined her lips with Nyx slim lip pencil in color Plum and completed the look with my favorite Stila stay all day liquid lipstick in the shade Ricco.

Now go out and try a bold lip with a sultry eye and break some rules and maybe some hearts!

Xoxo,

Diana Gonzalez

Curl by Javie Huerta

October 20, 2015 Gabrielle Guerrero

Curl. Inspired by Julia Roberts in any movie where she wears her curls. The natural curly look can be so many things I like to think this is messy while not making the wearer feel like a young lioness . Patience is key for this look using medium heat and small inch sections for curling. I used "piggie backing" technique which is starting at the root curling and twisting curled hair out of iron as moving down to the final tip of the hair. This gives a super natural look. If someone can do it you got skills, if you can't who cares just curl small sections, it's going to look cool either way.
Key;
Small inch sections curled
Product use;
Once all hair is curled mist hairspray all over
Spray sea salt spray all over
And pressed shine oil deep into hair
Product We used;
Balmains session hairspray
Balmains texture salt spray
Js sloane top coat gloss oil

This can be an easy go to if you have curly hair but a few cray straight ones, take those straight hairs in small sections curl them and all over add some hairspray ,salt spray, and oil for that Julia Roberts pretty woman look.

Wave by Javie Huerta

October 20, 2015 Gabrielle Guerrero

Wave. This wavy hair look came from all my girlfriends that would get ready in seconds and look as if everything was perfectly polished, in the shop I call it Cool Girl Style people seem to completely get it when the look is done . The whole thing is intended on being done quickly making sure big sections are being used while adding a fine layer of product to give structure to the hair and mixing directions of curling iron away from face to toward the face so that curls work in opposite direction next to each other.
Using the iron
- large wide vertical section of hair sweeping over as to smooth hairs of the section, once smooth curl that big section and pull on it whiles it warm to stretch out wave.The next wave should be the opposite direction as the last
Product
-we used Balmain's session hairspray(french brand I liked the packaging and the brand is known for its fashion so I like to imagine this is fancy fashion for the hair and is smell cool), which is a firm hold misting it finely to each wave when hair was completely waved
- with a little gloss oil on hands (js sloane which is a mens focused hair brand I just like the smell which is super light and reminds me of dressed up guys growing up it's essentially argon oil) pressed into the ends of the hair for polish

   Cool Girl Style shows off the hair with some style at the same time says I'm not a princess I'm a fucking cool girl.

Get the look: Soft & Luminous Glow

October 9, 2015 Gabrielle Guerrero

Full tutorial on this "Soft & Luminous Glow" look we did for a photoshoot collaboration with Photographer Alec Channing.

Gabrielle has the most stunning beauty, we always keep her look very subtle, soft, and natural. I mainly just enhance her features, here is how we achieved this look…

Face - I started off by moisturizing her face with Benefit Cosmetic’s Triple Performing Facial Emulsion Moisturizer, then I applied Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation in shade 210 Sunny Beige with a damp beauty blender and pressed into her skin to give a luminous coverage.

Concealer - I began with NYX Above & Beyond full coverage concealer in “orange” to hide any dark under eye circles. To brighten, on top of that we used BareMinerals bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in the shade “light” in a triangle/v shape under her eyes. I also did a few strokes of the concealer on her forehead, down the bridge of her nose, chin, and corner of the mouth to give the perfect highlight and glow. To prevent creasing, I used banana shade powder to set the concealer under her eyes. I did not set the rest of her face because we wanted to leave a dewy finish. Then we moved onto contouring her entire face with Benefit Cosmetic’s Hoola Bronzer. We used this bronzer because we love the neutral tone it has, applying that in the hallows of her cheeks, slightly around her hairline, across her jawline, and whatever was remaining on the brush I lightly dusted the sides of her nose.

Eyebrows: I am obsessed with Gabrielle’s eyebrow shape, they’re naturally perfect. So, all I wanted to do was define and lift them a little more. I used Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow in “medium brown” from the center of her brow to end. For the front of her brow and to set the rest, I used Benefit Cosmetic’s Gimme Brow in “Medium Deep” for a more soft to bold brow. To clean up her brow and any stray hairs, I used concealer right underneath her arch and finished it off with the Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter we used on her face.

Brow Tip: REMEMBER you never want to go too dark in the beginning of your brow, this causes them to look too drawn on and it also makes your eyebrows appear closer together. It's all about the blending and keeping them soft, subtle and groomed properly.

Cheeks - Using Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer I added a little more bronzer to the hallows of her cheeks to give her face more depth. Next, I applied  Ulta Beauty’s Baked Bronzer in “Radiance” to add more of a glow to her cheeks. To highlight, with a fluffy fan brush I used Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Illuminator in “So Hollywood” on her cheek bones, above and below her eyebrow arch, center of the bridge and tip of her nose, cupid bow on her lip, a little on her chin, and with a smile on her face, dusted on the apples of her cheeks.

Eyes- To keep a more natural eye look, we went with the MAC 217 brush and again used the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, mainly on her lid and blended it upwards into the crease to make her brown eyes stand out.

Quick Tip: Orange tones really bring out any color! To brighten her eyes, I went back in with the Anastasia Bevelry Hills highlighter and applied it in the inner corner of her eyes.

I added a more flesh tone eyeliner on her water line, and finished off with Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara in black.

Lips: For her lips we wanted to stay on the neutral side but still have that pop of color. So, we started off with her all time favorite lip liner,  Lancome Le Lipstique in “charme”, filling her lips in completely with this color we topped it off with YSL Rouge Pur Couture in "Rose Stiletto" on center of her top and bottom lip.

Finishing off this look I spritzed her face with Glossier's Soothing Face Mist to hydrate, soothe and give her skin the perfect luminous glow! Off to shooting we went!
